During spring break I visited the
Pinball Hall of Fame Museum in Las Vegas. I enjoyed walking around the museum and looking at all the old games. I then took time to play these “old games.” While playing, I began by just dropping in the quarter and playing by reflex. I then took time to review the notices and hints on each machine about how to earn points. As I took this time, I watched my scores go higher – often resulting in my earning an “extra ball…

Thoughts on the
CITES Instructional Leadership in the 21st Century Conference I attended this week. The Keynote Speaker was
Erik Weihenmayer (who is the only blind person to summit the highest peak on all seven continents.) One of the most important concepts he said, which stayed with me, was “The greatest things in th…

I am involved in Electronic Village Online these next 6 weeks. The participants are from around the world and I find it an exciting experience. Just wondering if you feel you can get as much from an online experience as from f2f? Does every PD need some f2f?

Now look at how students may prove these points to be true, and supplement their ideas with facts. Now students have something that has to be organized into a logical sequence with smooth transitions.
A Research Paper outline has to be crowned with one important text requisite,…

An outline for a Best Essay writing is basically 60 per cent of work done. While writing a term paper outline, students basically write main parts of assignment. Admit it – it’s much easier to adjust or rewrite several points in an outline than rewriting a whole paragraph or even several paragraphs in a term paper itself.

I seem to have become bogged down with PD presentations - could use some input from all of you.
What is your favorite "tool" for your personal learning network? and Why?
Do you find yourself loosing interest in using social networks? have they become cumbersome?
What about twitter?
Any other input on PLN's is appreciated.

I blogged a short video clip,
Do It For Me, that a friend sent. See:
SharonsShare today.
It also was fed to the top of the NewLearning's main page - I wonder what you folks all think about our "safety net" teaching mentality? Are we sheltering too much?
The funny thing was, that a teacher in one of my district elementary schools was blocked from viewing the video! We use a state filtering system which I can over-ride. You can…

I am finding success with Moodle and wikis - wondering what platforms you find most useful. I would like to move into more video and voice tools to supplement my professional development offerings. Does anyone already do this?

I have been a bit negligent of this fabulous group. Projects - projects.
I have several great projects going on in my district - and perhaps that is just as good as direct PD for the teachers.
I am going to start a new Forum for you to all post some of the projects being completed by your teachers - include the URLs.
Check under Forums for Examples of Successful Projects - and add your stars.

I am in the process of putting together our summer Professional Development program. This year, I am considering opening up some for outside educators - wonder if that might work.
Our courses meet for a week f2f - but are fulling supported through Moodle. Many of the members here are also responsible for Professional Development - what are your plans?
When mine are a little more firmed up, I will post some outlines and see what you think -
