Race to catch up with Web 2.0 tools!

I thought that everyone out there might like to see this picture. When I found it, it made me feel like I did when I was so excited learning about additional web 2.0 tools, cool open source programs, and spreading the use of Moodle throughout our school. Can you tell that I am anxious to infuse more technology in the learning process? Enjoy your summer, and don't race around too much!

Speaking of Web 2.0 and tagging, I just spent some time doing searches at "Technorati". Cool stuff! However, on the technorati page there was a tag cloud and some tags were not appropriate for school use of technorati. Has anyone else noticed this? Can we safely use technorati to help students discover more about their interests?

I am constantly trying to see how we can best use these Web2.0 tools to help teachers provide the kind of learning experiences that will help 21st century students. As much as I love this stuff, I worry that schools will never keep us as long as they continue to do business the same as they have for so many years. There needs to be some radical changes and I wonder if that will happen in my lifetime. Our students are lucky to have a full time tech guy (Tim Hart) and a tech integrator, but we are the exception and not the rule. Hofefully we can also make a difference beyond our school.
