Well, the course curriculum is designed around the text Preparing to Use Technology, which is co-authored by Dr. Blanche O'Bannon. She is the instructional leader on this, and I am part of her team of instructors at UT-Knoxville. We all acknowledg...

This sounds like a fabulous group to work with! They should be very interested in moving into a technology supportive domain. Depending on their 'majors', I would look at as many examples of technology in today's classrooms as you can find. Help t...

Job Title
teacher/learner
Location
Knoxville, TN (USA)
About Me:
I am a secondary language arts teacher currently on an extended leave from the classroom. My leave has been bookended by babies (now three and half years old and nine months old), and in between I earned a MS in instructional technology. I work part-time coaching new and novice teachers in Knox County, TN, and I plan to resume graduate studies in fall 2009.

What do you hope to get from this collaboration?
Overall, my goal is to become a more conscientious and critical consumer and producer of content across this amazing new ICT landscape. Specifically, my work as a graduate student is zeroing in on how 21st century tools and applications might support mentoring and induction of new and novice teachers in the large, diverse public school system in which I live and work.
